A blog about the games I'm currently playing - they'll most likely be Xbox 360 games, but I'm not opposed to a bit of Cluedo now and then.

This is my most treasured idea for a game. If you steal it I will kill you. Or be very, very angry - I haven’t decided yet. Right, so I like the Assassin’s Creed games; even if they are a little plot heavy. There used to be a time where we thought that with each new Ass-Creed game there would be a new time period setting. Brotherhood and Revelations have ruined this theory; but, you never know, if they ever make Assassin’s Creed 3 it might be in a new time period. My idea is simple:Victorian London.

Not only would it be physically a much darker game (due to the bad British weather and industrial smog) but it would also be darker emotionally: its Empire Strikes Back moment, if you will. High profile targets would be harder to kill because they would have revolvers, or maybe even rifles. You’d have to conceal all of your weapons: you can’t just carry a broad sword around Victorian London. This means you could have weapons hidden in other objects: a blade inside a walking cane, fibre-wire in a pocket-watch, throwing knifes inside your cloak. It’d be harder to fit into society; I’m thinking capes, and three-piece suits, and top hats, and canes. Just imagine a Victorian, top hat-wearing, cane-wielding, pipe smoking, monocle-wearing assassin. And then you have the physical setting - London: you have Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament, the rich north bank, the seedy south bank, the river Thames itself. You can even interweave legends such as Jack the Ripper and Sherlock Holmes into the story.

The saddest thing about this whole idea is that I will likely never see it come to light. How do I get in touch with Ubisoft to pitch them this idea? I’m serious - if anybody knows how I can do that, I would love for you to contact me. I die a little inside every time I come up with new ideas for this fantasy game because I know it will never exist.

I recently picked up a copy of Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood to play when I get annoyed at the people on Black Ops. I stand by what I’ve always said about the Assassin’s Creed franchise: they’re easy, fun, and they’re all worth playing through at least once. As far as I can tell, there are only two problems with Assassin’s Creed: firstly, the plot is wasted on a game like that. I’m sure the story of Assassin’s Creed is very clever and all, but I just don’t care about it. It got slightly over-complicated towards the end of the first game, and since then I’ve just been more interested in slashing people up. The second thing that I don’t like about the Assassin’s Creed games is that they messed with the system: I was under the impression that each game would be set in a different time period, but Brotherhood, and the upcoming game Revelations, totally messed that up. Besides, I have my own idea for an Assassin’s Creed game - but I’ll tell you about that some other time. For now, I’m just happy that I’ve got something other to play than Call of Duty.
